About the Role
We’re looking for a creative, organised and digitally savvy Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to join the team at Sherwood Queenstown. Reporting to the Marketing Manager and General Manager, this role will support the planning, coordination and execution of marketing initiatives across digital, social media and traditional channels for the property.
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves content creation, social media, storytelling and hospitality. You’ll help drive brand awareness, guest engagement, food and beverage promotions, accommodation campaigns and hotel activations while bringing the Sherwood brand to life across multiple platforms.
This is a permanent full-time role with a minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of digital, social and traditional marketing campaigns
- Coordinate promotional activity across accommodation, food & beverage, conferences, events and hotel activations
- Assist with seasonal campaigns, partnerships and brand initiatives
- Support paid advertising coordination across Meta and Google platforms
- Manage Sherwood Queenstown’s social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok
- Create, schedule and publish engaging, on-brand content across all platforms
- Monitor social engagement and respond to enquiries and comments where appropriate
- Develop social media content plans aligned with business goals and brand standards
- Coordinate photography, videography, influencer stays and content shoots
- Create EDMs, flyers, digital assets, menus, presentations and promotional collateral
- Assist with copywriting across campaigns, websites, social media and guest communications
- Update and maintain website and online listing content
- Support SEO and digital optimisation initiatives
- Collaborate with hotel departments to identify marketing opportunities and support business objectives
- Track and report on campaign and social media performance using analytics tools and platform insights
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging hospitality and tourism trends
What You’ll Bring
- 1–3 years’ experience in a marketing, social media or content coordination role
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field (preferred)
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing trends
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, Google Ads and email marketing platforms
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Creative thinking with strong attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and understanding of hospitality, tourism or lifestyle marketing
- Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
- Knowledge of the New Zealand tourism and hospitality market is advantageous
