Digital Data & Innovation Analyst

We’re looking for a proactive Digital Data & Innovation Analyst to join our IT team and help strengthen Barker’s growing modern data and digital capability.

This hands‑on role plays a key part in delivering trusted data, business‑ready insights, and smarter ways of working across the organisation.

You’ll work closely with teams across Operations, R&D, Sales, Finance and beyond, helping turn data into insight and ideas into action.

The Role

As a Digital Data & Innovation Analyst, you’ll help build, operate and continuously improve Barker’s modern, cloud‑based data platform. This is a role with visibility and impact across the business, where you’ll balance day‑to‑day delivery with longer‑term improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modern Data & Reporting
  • Support and enhance Barker’s cloud‑based data platform (Snowflake, DBT, Mage AI)
  • Build, automate and maintain reliable end‑to‑end data pipelines
  • Develop and support Power BI dashboards, datasets and reporting solutions
  • Administer Power BI workspaces, permissions, gateways and governance
  • Deliver ad‑hoc analysis and investigations using SQL, Python and APIs
  • Automation, Innovation & Improvement
  • Contribute to data automation, digital innovation and early‑stage AI initiatives
  • Research, test and help introduce new tools, technologies and better ways of working
  • Support and progressively modernise existing SSRS, automated and Excel‑based reporting
  • Support & Collaboration
  • Troubleshoot data, pipeline and reporting issues and improve data quality
  • Provide user support, documentation and training across BI, data and Microsoft 365 tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on data and digital projects

About You

You’re curious, practical and solutions‑focused, with a genuine interest in how data and digital tools can support better business outcomes. You enjoy learning, improving systems, and working with people across the business.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in data engineering, BI or analytics — or a strong foundation with a desire to grow
  • Strong SQL skills and hands‑on experience with Power BI
  • Exposure to modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred)
  • Familiarity with DBT, Python, data orchestration tools and API integrations (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with non‑technical stakeholders
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • An interest in automation, digital transformation and continuous improvement
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience is welcome.
