Job Description

The Commerce team is a specialist unit within the Nine Advertising Sales team, providing expertise and advice around pricing, yield management, reporting and budgeting. The goal is to provide the Sales team with data and insights around pricing and inventory, in order to maximise advertising profit from our digital assets.

The Yield and Inventory Manager - Digital is a central role within Nine’s Commerce team, primarily responsible for providing insight and guidance to support sales and trading decisions of our digital inventory. This role has an integral remit to manage relationships and to be a source of expertise across many stakeholder groups; be it the Sales floor, data analysts, research and insights teams, ad technology and product owners, and of course in leading their own team.

This role represents an opportunity for a media professional to gain exposure to the inner workings of Nine and the media industry. You will be working right across our multi-platform media network; including television, broadcast video on demand, digital, and publishing, and gaining broad experience within one of Australia's most exciting and dynamic industries.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop and implement pricing and inventory strategy for Nine Digital Assets, including but not limited to 9Now, nine.com.au, the SMH, the Age and AFR
  • Partner with our sales team to maximise revenue by providing trading guidance, packaging & added value guidelines, embodying a customer service excellence mentality
  • Drive revenue through insights, strategic planning, innovation and thought leadership
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and have the ability to adjust your communication style in line with your audience
  • Articulate revenue strategies when working with commercial and sales teams
  • Oversee creation & management of key inventory & revenue reporting across Nine’s business
  • Drive best practice & system expertise across our revenue, inventory tools and systems
  • Manage a small team of Digital specialists

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will have:

  • 3+ years of digital advertising experience
  • Pricing, yield and inventory management experience
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Strong excel skills
  • Analytical skills that can be weaponized in real world scenarios
  • A strong understanding of the Digital marketplace
