Job Description

The Today Show is seeking a Senior Weather Producer to field produce, collaborate with corporate clients, and manage a fast-paced schedule. This role demands a passion for travel, the ability to perform under pressure, and a flair for crafting engaging, memorable television moments.

Day to day you will:

  • Research and implementation of daily weather segments on Today and Weekend Today
  • Managing the busy travel diary for weather across Today and Weekend Today
  • Working with corporate clients to meet their objectives while making great television
  • Managing the presenter and crew and representing the Nine brand while on location
  • Booking paid weather segments and working with the Commercial Manager to meet budget objectives
  • Producing breaking news coverage from the severe weather events Working early mornings and travelling as required for daily broadcast
  • This role requires shift work including some weekends
  • Other duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

What we would like to see:

  • Strong experience in journalism, news, and current affairs with sound editorial judgment and a deep understanding of the media environment and its challenges.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including high-profile talent.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of fair dealing laws, media industry regulations, and TV production, including camera operations and live broadcasting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with outstanding time management and organizational abilities.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to perform under pressure while actively developing industry contacts to enhance weather content.
