Responsibilities
- Planning
Plan for quality assurance activities with timelines and effort estimates. Manage resources to support testing demand. - Requirements gathering
To discuss and work with SA & Dev teams or SMBC to understand the testing requirements to determine the testing coverage and collect sample test data (if available). - Documentation
Review documentations created by QA team leader, Senior System Analyst or vendor to ensure quality. - Testing and tracking
Tracking testing activities against test plans and track defects (Log Defect with assigned Severity, Retest and Close Defect) discovered to resolution. Report statistics and statuses to PM. - People management
Provide guidance and mentorship to the team and ensure process and compliance is met. Provide direction, support and set performance goals to the team. Timely escalate issues to PM. Support on hiring matters such as interviews where required. Onboard new joiners to their roles. Coach and guide team members on their jobs. Manage and motivate team performance, guided by performance management framework. Engage team members to identify and support them on their career aspirations and development plans. - Test Strategy & Planning
Define the overall test strategy (manual, automation, performance, security, UAT and required other type of test). Create and maintain the Test Plan, including scope, timelines, resources, tools, and risks. Decide test entry/exit criteria and quality gates. - Test Execution & Control
Ensure test cases are designed, reviewed, and executed effectively. Monitor testing progress against plan and adjust as needed. Ensure defect lifecycle is followed correctly (logging, triage, retesting, closure). - Defect & Risk Management
Facilitate defect triage meetings with development and stakeholders. Assess quality risks and communicate their impact clearly. Ensure high-severity defects are resolved or mitigated before release. - Stakeholder & Cross-Team Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for testing. Communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders. Assist management for go/no-go release decisions with providing the analysis. - Test Metrics & Reporting
Define and track key quality metrics such as test coverage, defect density, defect leakage, test execution progress and produce regular test status reports and dashboards.
Requirements
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. With good command of English both verbal and written.
- Min. 7-10 years' experiencing working as Quality Assurance Analyst/ Tester in a bank, FI or a consultancy company.
- Familiar with defect management tools.
- Ability to understand technical jargons and some understanding of technology environment setup.
- Strong communication skill.
- Strong presentation skill.
- Proven track record of team leading experience.
- Strong sense of ownership and take responsibility.
- Good to have any professional QA certification. (e.g., CSTE or CSQA)
- Technical background with a good understanding of SDLC cycle a nice to have.
- Good to have Agile testing experience or Experience in automation or performance testing.
