Video Producer
Company Description
The Age is looking for an experienced, creative video storyteller to produce compelling content for Australia’s leading news mastheads. Reporting to our Head of Audio and Video, you’ll be working with journalists, producers and editors across the country to originate high-quality video content that reflects our editorial values and reaches audiences via our digital publications and social platforms.
This position is key to driving video views across all our platforms and delivering high levels of audience engagement.
Job Description
Day to day you will:
- Lead end-to-end digital content production (shooting, editing, publishing video and audio)
- Stay current with digital trends, using data and audience insights to improve content.
- Produce bespoke video content across all digital platforms
- Discover trending social video content to share on and off platforms
- Publish video content to The Age digital platforms, applying strong editorial judgment
- Actively contribute to editorial discussions and pitch original ideas
- Manage cross-platform publishing and monitor audience analytics
This role requires weekend work.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in video production, from camera setup and direction to editing and motion design
- Ability to think quickly and act decisively in a fast-paced news environment, prioritising and meeting tight deadlines
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition)
- A proactive team player attitude, always looking to innovate, learn and push creative boundaries
- Excellent production and post-production skills
- An understanding of digital content delivery and workflows
- Strong understanding of principles of journalism
- Proven knowledge of video editing techniques
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud is desirable
