Job Description

Join Nine as a Multimedia Video Editor and play a vital role in delivering captivating news and current affairs content across our national platforms, including flagship programs and major sporting events like the Olympics and NRL. Leveraging your speed, accuracy, creativity, and expertise in AVID Media Composer and Cloud UX, you'll collaborate within our dynamic News Media team to craft high-quality video under the guidance of experienced leaders. 

Day to day you will:

  • Edit broadcast-ready video for Nine News bulletins and feature packages across various platforms.
  • Manage content ingest and archive restoration.
  • Work a flexible 24/7 roster, including early and late shifts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of edited material, escalating technical issues as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with editorial teams to maximise content quality and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute positively to a supportive team environment and uphold company policies.
     

Qualifications

What you’ll bring: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in media, TV production, or communications.
  • A foundational understanding of editing software; AVID Media Composer skills are an advantage.
  • Solid technical knowledge of media file formats and compression.
  • A proactive, positive, and flexible attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow in television broadcasting.
  • A keen interest in news, sport, and current affairs.
  • Experience in a live television broadcast environment.
  • Familiarity with computer networking and file-based delivery systems.
