A day in the life? 
You’ll be a senior member of our editorial team and have the newsroom experience to step into most roles. You will be a local news junkie with strong editorial judgment whose multi-skilled background means you are equally at ease reporting in the field, assigning crews and journalists, assembling stories into a rundown, editing copy, and producing live bulletins. Reporting to the Director of News, you will help manage, coach and provide guidance to news employees and perform as a member of the news management team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Help oversee daily news production requirements.
  • Produce dynamic news bulletins, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of content.
  • Produce news special events.
  • Story writing and editing.
  • Actively contribute to editorial decisions.
  • Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, team-oriented culture.
  • Assist in evaluating, leading, and mentoring staff to promote peak performance and efficiency.
  • Perform other supervisory and essential functions as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • A passion for news, with a keen eye for the issues that matter to our audience.
  • Proven experience as a television news producer with an in-depth understanding of the production process.
  • Exceptional news judgment, combined with strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with team members and with other news leaders.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
