Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Camera Operator to join our highly successful News team at Nine in Sydney. As part of our dynamic News division, youโll contribute to delivering engaging, high-quality news bulletins to our loyal viewers 7 days a week.
Day to day you will:
- Operate broadcast cameras for live and pre-recorded news segments.
- Assist in live cross procedures and work with live Dejero Units (preferred but not essential).
- Work on live News bulletins, demonstrating strong communication skills for storytelling and precise editing.
- Input data into media exchange/ingest systems.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of professionals to deliver compelling news content on time.
- Provide timely and efficient support for local teams and assist in planning tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain flexibility to work across a rotating 7-day roster and be adaptable to various schedules and locations.
Qualifications
What we would like:
- Experience in live news broadcasts and on-the-road camera operation
- Demonstrated communication skills, including written, listening, and storytelling abilities.
- Proficient in news broadcast cameras and editing software (Premiere Pro, AVID
- Ability to anticipate challenges and manage tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Proactive in problem-solving, idea-sharing, and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
- Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to engage in new ways of working and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of current affairs and local events.
- CASA RPAS Drone Certification (preferred, but not essential).
- Full Driverโs License required.
