Job Description

Join the dynamic team at A Current Affair, Australia's leading current affairs program, and be the crucial ear as our next Sound Recordist / Audio Operator, elevating our storytelling through exceptional sound recording on location. Your expertise will ensure our high-quality productions resonate deeply with viewers, making you an integral part of bringing impactful stories to life.

Day to day you will:

  • Record high-quality sound on diverse shoots using boom and lapel mics, adapting to varying environments and background noise.
  • Monitor and record audio across multiple channels during outside broadcasts in potentially challenging conditions.
  • Capture clear audio in both controlled interview settings and spontaneous public interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with camera operators and reporters on location.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot audio recording equipment to ensure optimal performance.
     

Qualifications

What you’ll bring: 

  • Proven on-the-job experience in longer-form story production preferred.
  • Ability to capture high-quality audio in varied and dynamic environments.
  • Expertise in using boom and lapel microphones effectively.
  • Capability to monitor and record multi-channel audio in outside broadcasts.
  • Strong collaborative skills to support camera operators and reporters.
