About the role

We're looking for a confident, results-driven Senior Account Director to join our Advertising Sales Team in Victoria, with a sharp focus on agency relationships and strategic media sales.

This role is perfect for a senior sales professional who knows how to navigate the agency world, deliver client-first solutions, and consistently exceed revenue targets. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of top-tier media agency accounts,  working closely with agency leads and client teams to uncover opportunities, pitch omni-channel client solutions, and build long-term value through smart, insight-led selling.

The ideal candidate for this role will come with strong agency and client contacts in in Victorian market,  coupled with strong commercial acumen to successfully thrive in this high-impact role.

Duties

  • The Senior Account Director is responsible for achieving an individual budget that contributes to the team, state and national budgets.
  • It is expected that the role has strong previous experience in media sales with existing relationships with agencies and clients.
  • Work with team to accurately identify new revenue opportunities and pro-actively sell across all of Are Media's brands.
  • Maintain existing market relationships to drive revenue growth through peer-to-peer relationships and educating clients on Are Media opportunities.
  • Seek new business relationships to create revenue prospects by pitching and communicating Are Media opportunities.
  • Accurately provide updates and forecast to Head of Sales and drive pipeline opportunities.

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in media/advertising sales, with a strong focus on agency clients.
  • A deep understanding of the Australian agency landscape, including key players, processes, and challenges.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and maintain high-value client relationships.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
