Producer/Presenter, Port Macquarie

  • The Job

    Produce and present programs for ABC Mid North Coast that involves the creation of content across multiple platforms

    The Role

    Working closely with colleagues and reporting to the Editor, you will:

    • Produce the local Saturday radio breakfast program
    • Present the show’s Sports segment showcasing the region’s sporting events, competitions and successes
    • Create multi-platform content for local, state, and national audiences
    • Provide in-studio production support and manage talk-back interactions
    • Support local emergency coverage and stakeholder communication
    • Develop shareable content across ABC platforms
    • Cross-promote ABC content to boost audience engagement
    • Generate diverse stories representing Australian communities
    • Actively engage with local communities to source relevant narratives

    About You

    We are looking for an Producer to join our fast-paced news environment based in Port Macquarie. You will bring:

    • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent media experience
    • Strong program-making skills with ability to create engaging cross-platform content
    • Excellent editorial skills for fast-paced news environments
    • Passion for authentic storytelling representing Australian diversity
    • Proven ability to source and maintain community contacts
    • Sport contacts and experience covering sport across multiple codes would be a bonus
