About the Team & Office
Join a high-performing team passionate about podcasting in the digital media and technology space. We build and maintain the technology that powers high-quality audio experiences, working in a fun, collaborative environment. Our Sydney office, located in a vibrant creative hub with great transport links, cafes, and collaborative workspaces, is currently trialing a 9-day fortnight—with every second Friday off to rest and recharge!

A day in the life?

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in building and maintaining the backbone of our podcasting ecosystem. You will work across all aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, operation, and support.

Your responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of backend services based on Node.js and GraphQL
• Automation of builds and deployments
• Maintenance of our Kubernetes environment and other cloud-based infrastructure

What You’ll Need: 

• A relevant Bachelor degree OR
• At least 5 years of relevant employment experience
• Cloud & DevOps – Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, GCP/AWS, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Automation & CI/CD – GitLab, ArgoCD, shell scripting, and secure networking concepts.
• Monitoring & Security – New Relic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, logging, auditing, and security hardening.
• Backend Development – Node.js, Python, TypeScript, REST/GraphQL APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Performance & Scalability – Database management (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis), caching, and CDN optimization (Cloudflare, CloudFront).
