Job Description
The Network Control team is a small but crucial group of technical operations specialists. Working closely with Studio, NPC, and other internal departments, it manages the coordination and technical supervision of live signal transmissions, from breaking news and live crosses to major sporting events. No two days are the same in this high-energy, live environment.
As a Master Control Operator, you’ll ensure the seamless operation of the Network Control Room, delivering high-quality signal transmission services to support Nine’s programming and productions.
Day to day you will:
- Operate broadcast equipment and manage complex signal routing in a live environment
- Support internal and external productions, studios, and outside broadcasts
- Execute scheduled and ad hoc bookings for signal transmission
- Deliver technically accurate, error-free vision and audio signals
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the control room
- Respond to breaking news and live event needs with agility and professionalism
- Work effectively in a shift-based team environment
Qualifications
What we would like to see:
- Strong computer literacy
- Adaptability with technical systems and environments
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in live broadcast settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Operational experience in a technical or broadcast role
- Familiarity with production procedures and broadcast equipment
- Knowledge of television transmission workflows and precision measuring instruments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
