Job Description
This role is within Group Financial Accounting, a newly formed team responsible for the financial accounting of Nine Group across Publishing, Broadcasting, and Digital. You'll contribute to standardising and improving processes with a mindset of continuous improvement, and assist in providing accurate financial information. This position is a 6 month parental leave cover until late January.
Day to day you will:
- Oversee the management of the General Ledger (GL)
- Support the month-end closing process
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for external audits
- Ensure effective internal controls over financial operations
- Identify areas for process improvements in accounting systems
- Provide detailed analysis of financial performance
- Collaborate with divisional Business Partners
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualification or in progress is highly desirable
- Proven years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the media sector
- Experience with accounting software (Microsoft D365) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AAS)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Revenue accounting experience and experience in digital advertising revenue would be advantageous.
