Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Executive Producer to lead and be accountable for the production and delivery of high quality news bulletins. The role is critical to the ongoing success and high editorial standards of Nine News. The ideal candidate will bring strong people leadership skills, a sharp editorial vision and proven record of bulletin management.

Day to day you will:

  • Partner with senior leaders to inspire a high-performing news team.
  • Drive editorial excellence across bulletins, with a focus on the 6pm News.
  • Oversee compelling news creation, balancing diverse local, national, and global stories.
  • Script, subedit, and approve content for broadcast.
  • Lead breaking and major news rolling coverage production.
  • Manage daily newsroom operations with strong ethical and journalistic standards.
  • Ensure accurate and legally compliant content.
  • Foster creative reporting and the adoption of new storytelling technologies.
  • Champion multiplatform content integration across digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Lead and mentor the news team, cultivating a positive, inclusive culture with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Proven excellence in editorial judgment and news bulletin production.
  • Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, legal standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing diverse teams.
  • Solid knowledge of the digital landscape and its growing impact on news.
  • Proven ability to innovate and create dynamic news bulletins.
