Job Description

The Engagement Marketing Executive works within the Audience Engagement team to deliver brand-specific campaigns and engagement initiatives that reinforce the value of a subscription throughout the audience lifecycle. 

This role is responsible for the development and execution of key engagement campaigns and initiatives and brand campaigns for our Publishing brands, including The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Brisbane Times. The role will collaborate closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure our subscribers stay informed and deepen their connection with our newsroom. 

This role ensures our subscribers get value from their relationship with our brands by engaging them in our award-winning content, reinforcing our value proposition, and delivering the best subscriber experiences possible.

Day to day you will:

  • Execute campaigns and engagement initiatives across owned and offsite channels
  • Collaborate with editorial stakeholders to manage the promotion and marketing rollout of editorial content
  • Manage subscriber offers, promotions and competitions where necessary
  • Use Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other marcomms platforms to deliver targeted communications and other engagement initiatives
  • Work with creative team to develop creative campaigns
  • Use behavioural data and subscription insights to build compelling messaging and triggers to further engagement and improve retention across the customer lifecycle
  • Develop, send and provide recommendations for BAU email sends plus manage the schedule and creative process for BAU house press and display ads
  • Assist with campaign tracking, reporting and analysis to form and communicate insights.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in customer marketing, CRM or data-driven marketing role
  • Strong direct channel experience, including email and owned channels
  • Ability to deliver creative ideas and innovative campaigns with an innate attention to detail 
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and ability to apply critical thinking to problem-solving tasks
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional organisation with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • An understanding of current marketing principles, including digital performance metrics, channels, audience building and best practices
  • Experience with Salesforce or other marcomms platforms will be an advantage.
