Job Description

This is a critical, multi-year, multi-million-dollar transformation role. As the Director of Product, Consumer Platform, you will own the CX and product vision, strategy, and execution for Nine's Integrated Consumer Platform. Your goal is to unify disparate technologies from Streaming and Publishing into a single foundation for all consumer experiences across identity, engagement, and commerce, directly underpinning Nine's future revenue growth ambitions.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and own the long-term product vision and strategy encompassing Identity, Accounts, Subscriptions, Billing, Payments, and Martech.
  • Identify and execute platform-enabled commercial growth opportunities in collaboration with all Nine business units.
  • Lead the technical discovery, definition, and vendor selection (RFP) for new consolidated stacks, ensuring future-proofing.
  • Strategically reduce investment in legacy systems, managing a graceful transition while ensuring security and maintaining critical business dependencies.
  • Drive innovation and acceleration through the strategic use of AI and external expertise.

Delivery & Program Execution

  • Lead the Consumer Platform product function (including 'Accounts & Engagement' and 'Commerce' domains), building a high-performance, product-led culture.
  • Own the definition and execution of the roadmap, ensuring value delivery on schedule, specifically targeting milestones like the LA Olympics.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as an exceptional leader and internal thought-leader, influencing C-level, ELT, and Board stakeholders to secure long-term buy-in.
  • Act as the key technology partner to the Technology Director and senior executives, providing clear communication on progress, risks, and budget.
  • Support the Technology Director in leading key vendor and implementation partner relationships, ensuring they deliver on commitments.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Significant experience in product leadership, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex digital transformation programs in a consumer-facing, high-traffic environment.
  • Deep strategic acumen with the ability to translate business goals into a clear product and consumer experience strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in building high-performing product teams and a deep understanding of modern product development practices, craft and tools.
  • A deep understanding of the digital consumer commerce ecosystem across payments, identity, entitlements, communications and more.
  • Experience with vendor evaluation, selection (RFP), and management for business-critical systems (e.g., CIAM, Subscription Billing, Payment Gateways).
  • Strong financial and budget management skills, demonstrated commercial awareness and the ability to translate product and experience development into attributable commercial growth.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align individuals from the engineering-level to the boardroom.
  • Experience in media, streaming (SVOD/BVOD), or publishing industries is highly desirable.
