Digital PMO

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure compliance through actively engaging with project stakeholders and delivery teams, maintaining adherence to relevant project and portfolio requirements, standards, and AusNet policies and procedures.
  • Define standards, schedule templates and associated reporting to be used by all Digital Projects aligned to AusNet delivery methods and needs.
  • Work with project leads and key delivery stakeholders to support portfolio level schedule definition and management, including identification of cross project interdependencies and critical path milestones. Assist project leads with approved re-baselining of schedule/s where required.
  • Review project and program schedules to ensure required quality and specificity, and support identification of any schedule conflicts and issues that will have a broader portfolio impact.
  • Ensure cross project interdependencies and critical path milestones are appropriately tracked and actively managed. Supporting the relevant change request process where required.
  • Create, manage and report on the portfolio master schedule including cross project interdependencies to enable visibility of delivery to schedule, and early identification of schedule deviations including impacts to dependent initiatives.
  • Identify, develop and embed continuous improvement opportunities across the portfolio as they relate to schedule and dependency management processes applicable during the delivery life-cycle.
  • Actively collaborate to share insights, lessons learned and wins widely with others.
  • Be adaptive to changes and innovations in the digital landscape that can help us grow our network and support the energy transition.

Technical and other requirements

Project management

  • Digital delivery specific process and principles as they relate to schedule definition and management throughout the project delivery life-cycle.
  • Project delivery methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and SDLC.

Project Tooling

  • Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft Project Online, Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Project Centre, Microsoft Planner and Jira.

Specific experience of relevance includes:

  • Applied experience with Schedule Management at a portfolio level, including:
    • critical path and cross project dependency management
    • reporting on schedule status, risks and issues
    • assessment of portfolio level impacts in the event of milestone change or schedule slippage
  • Strong understanding on waterfall/agile delivery methodologies and deliverables/artefacts
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Project Plan and supporting project and program management tools such as Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Project Online and Jira.
  • Relevant training or qualification in project and program management would be favourable.
  • Has demonstrated experience working in a multi-vendor project environment.
  • Experience with guiding business strategy around project tooling use, governance and adoption across teams.

Desirable experience:

  • Supporting or delivering the transition from Microsoft Project Online to Microsoft Project Server, including schedule migration, environmental configuration and impacts to portfolio reporting and governance.
