Job Description

The Australian Financial Review has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Digital Editor to join the digital team.

You will help curate and optimise content for digital editions ensuring AFR.com is breaking news and keeping its audience engaged.

You will also be required to help the digital editor with staffing, and work with different areas of the business including product, audience and visual teams.

Day to day you will:

  • Run the home page
  • Plan homepage editions with section editors
  • Prepare each edition
  • Post on social channels
  • Share SEO best practices
  • Curate and send newsletters
  • Write breaking news blog posts and manage the daily live blog

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have excellent news judgement and make editorial decisions quickly for AFR.com and apps.
