Data Services Officer

OVERVIEW

This is a unique opportunity for an early-career data professional to support the delivery of one of Australia’s most innovative audience measurement platforms, MOVE. As a member of the MOVE team, you will play a critical role in supporting media owners and agencies across the Out of Home (OOH) industry by helping them access, understand, and use audience data effectively.

You’ll combine your technical curiosity with communication skills to manage helpdesk-style queries, deliver support and onboarding, assist with data outputs, and contribute to industry education. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career at the intersection of data, technology, and media, within a spirited and supportive team.

The MOVE team works closely with the Outdoor Media Association (OMA), the peak industry body and is located in the same premises.

 

WHO WE ARE

MOVE is the Out of Home (OOH) industry audience measurement system funded by members of the OMA. It is available through a license for use by the Outdoor Media Association (OMA) Members and Media Agencies.

The OMA is an incorporated, not-for-profit industry body with a current membership of 54 full-time members. Members include JCDecaux, oOh! Media and QMS Media. Membership of the OMA is governed by its Constitution and Code of Ethics which are available at www.oma.org.au

THE CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

·       Manage the MOVE Helpdesk, triaging and resolving support queries from media owners and agencies, escalating issues where required.

·       Support user onboarding and maintain accurate access records and documentation.

·       Provide assistance in the distribution and packaging of audience data files and reports.

·       Support the validation of audience outputs and improve support processes.

·       Contribute to the development of member education resources such as user guides, FAQs, and training materials.

·       Support the administration of MOVE platform tools (e.g. Inventory Management System, MOVE Reporting Software, OASIS).

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic about helping others use data effectively.
  • Technically confident and naturally curious.
  • Keen to build experience across data, media, and software platforms.
  • Comfortable juggling support, coordination, and light analysis tasks.

Your skills and experience may include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged).
  • Demonstrated experience (including internships or course projects) in analytical, support, or coordination roles.
  • Exposure to data visualisation, statistical analysis, or software tools such as Excel, Tableau, Python, or QGIS is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, especially when translating technical information into plain English.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Woolloomooloo and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
