The Director of Commerce is responsible for advancing client outcomes across eRetail, Marketplaces, D2C, affiliates and omni-channel commerce. Supported by a Commerce Executive, and reporting into the Commerce Lead, they will partner with Performance Directors and our other Product teams to pitch, educate, grow, and deliver on projects and campaigns that sit across strategy, media, experience, and content.
Your role will likely prioritise and lead client relationships including the strategy and activation where necessary. You will play a core role in the evolution of internal capability around retail media and commerce with clients, running retail media & ensuring our teams remain are able to deliver on cutting edge Commerce requirements. You’ll also be positioned as a trusted advisor to both internal and external senior business leaders and expected to be connected in with other Commerce Leaders globally.
About the role:
- Lead core client conversations and Commerce growth for Sydney based clients (unless otherwise agreed)
- Deliver Commerce audits, and prepare proposals and pitch work to answer client needs both proactively and reactively
- Support and priortise the Commerce Executive (and possibly others, in future) outputs and deadlines, and work with wider client teams and lead, where necessary, to ensure timely and quality work is delivered to clients.
- Collaborate with the Commerce Lead to build a strategy for enabling Commerce capability to be expanded across the business, including internal training & development programs
- Support the Commerce Lead in operating as a trusted advisor to clients, and partner agencies
- Lead cross-craft squads on multidisciplinary retail/commerce focused client briefs
- Work alongside agency teams and commercial finance teams to accelerate commercial objectives and deliver on a healthy margin
About you:
- The ideal candidate will have relevant Industry exposure and experience within one or more commerce area, including D2C, Omnichannel, Marketplaces (e.g. Amazon), eRetail (e.g. Woolworths), Shopper Marketing or affiliates.
- You have a ‘lean in’ attitude and the ability to positively influence stakeholders.
- You will have prior experience and a strong understanding of people leadership.
- Experience in CitrusAd, Google Ads, Pacvue, Amazon Advertising, Google Data Studio is beneficial
- Experience in consultancy or agency highly regarded.
- Experience of supply chains, forecasting, aftersales support and platforms such as Commerce CMS, CRM, CRO (beneficial but not required.)
- Good to have thinking around attribution and modelling (beneficial but not required.)
- Experience of working across multiple concurrent projects or brands (beneficial but not required.)
