Job Description

Join the dynamic Nine News team as a Camera Operator. In this vital role, you'll be at the forefront of news gathering, production, and archiving, ensuring our audience receives the highest quality content. We are looking for an expert in contemporary news-gathering camera operation who combines exceptional technical skill with a solid understanding of the broadcast news landscape.

Day to day you will:

  • You will provide newsworthy coverage of both scheduled and unscheduled events, working under tight deadlines.
  • You will be proficient in operating field cameras and editing equipment, and will be responsible for minimizing downtime through proactive fault reporting.
  • Shift, lift, erect, and dismantle camera equipment, with a maximum lifting load of 20kg.
  • Work under the guidance of the bureau Chief of Staff and adhere to standard operating procedures and the Nine Network Australia Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Assist in implementing efficient workflows and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in both audio and visual news gathering.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • An excellent understanding of how a newsroom operates and the daily process of putting news to air.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills to navigate challenges effectively.
  • Knowledge of television production techniques and appropriate technical qualifications are highly desirable.
