Job Description

At 9News, we deliver high-quality journalism that informs and engages our audience.

We are looking for a talented Camera Operator to join our London Bureau starting in August. In this key role, you will collaborate with reporters, producers, and editors to capture and edit content for both television and digital platforms.

This fast-paced position demands adaptability, as assignments may arise at short notice across various locations. Strong editing skills are essential to ensure the delivery of compelling, high-quality visual content that upholds 9News' commitment to excellence.

Day to Day you will:

• Gather and deliver high-quality vision and audio for news stories in a broadcast television environment.
• Utilize a strong knowledge of broadcast camera and ancillary equipment, as well as audio equipment and techniques.
• Edit content using industry-standard software, including Premiere Pro and AVID.
• Cut together packages, VOs, and VOSOTs across news, sport, and weather segments.
• Build strong relationships through an open and approachable style, collaborating to produce engaging content.
• Stay adaptable and open to new technology and industry practices.
• Apply storytelling techniques effectively to create compelling content.

Qualifications

What we would like to see:

• Experience using AVID, Premier Pro and other editing software
• Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster and work additional hours when required, inclusive of short notice travel requirements
• Ability to adapt to the frequently changing needs of news gathering operations
• Proven experience as an ENG Camera Operator in a Broadcast setting
• Hold a current driver’s license, enabling flexibility in story gathering and coverage.
