Business Development & Marketing Manager - 14-month fixed term contract
Description
This role plays a key part in driving the implementation of the firm’s National
Business Development (BD) and Marketing Plan while also supporting the strategic
growth of our Sydney practice. Working closely with partners and senior lawyers,
you will develop and execute BD and marketing initiatives that enhance client
engagement, brand visibility and business growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support several nationally significant practice teams and focus groups and
provide critical support to Sydney partners and client-facing initiatives. - Driving tailored BD initiatives across key sectors and practice groups, with
a focus on cross-selling and client relationship development - Collaborating with the People & Development team in Sydney to deliver the
firm’s PLATFORM & ELEVATE event series - Acting as the key contact for Sydney-based sponsorships—managing
relationships, ROI tracking, and activation - Preparing client and market insights, fee reports, and other commercial
analysis to inform strategic decisions - Supporting the development of legal directory submissions and contributing to
award nominations - Managing Sydney-related marketing content on the firm’s website and intranet,
and contributing to firm-wide social media and e-marketing campaigns - Contributing to national marketing projects and initiatives as a member of
the national BD & Marketing team - Helping maintain and enhance the firm’s CRM and marketing platforms,
supporting effective client engagement and communications
About You
You are an experienced business development professional who enjoys working
closely with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape pursuit
strategies and turn market insights into new business outcomes. You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related
discipline - Significant business development experience within a law firm or professional
services environment - Demonstrated experience developing and implementing business development
plans - Experience working directly with partners or senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of professional services business development, new
business generation and, in collaboration with specialist client growth
resources, client relationship development - Demonstrate a proactive, results-driven and collaborative approach, building
strong stakeholder relationships while operating with credibility,
resilience, professionalism and adaptability - Highly commercial and strategically focused, with strong business development
planning and execution capability, exceptional stakeholder management and
influencing skills, and the ability to facilitate strategic discussions that
drive accountability and outcomes - Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving and project management
skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, identify growth
opportunities and translate them into practical, actionable business
development initiatives
