Job Description
Afternoons with Sofie Formica Producer
At 4BC, you’ll join a team that defines the benchmark for news and sports broadcasting, with Queensland’s most influential commentators, journalists, and broadcasters. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the 4BC Afternoons program hosted by Sofie Formica. Working weekdays from 8am-4pm, this opportunity would suit an individual with proven years of experience looking to enhance their skills, work alongside industry leaders, and make an impact at one of Brisbane’s most prominent radio stations.
Day to day you will:
- Assist the Executive Producer in creating and delivering engaging, audience-focused content.
- Develop and research content ideas, write and edit stories, and ensure all material is accurate and legally sound.
- Manage and monitor live show callers, ensuring suitability for airing.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Promotions teams to commercialise content and brainstorm new ideas.
- Work closely with the News and Digital teams to maintain content consistency across platforms.
- Investigate story tips, liaise with sources, and conduct interviews.
Qualifications
What we would like to see:
- Proven experience in radio, television, or news media production.
- Strong knowledge of news and current affairs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional phone manner.
- Strong communication skills, with experience in broadcast writing.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Sound understanding of media and broadcast law.
- A team player who is eager to learn and contribute
- A degree in Media, Journalism, or a related field.
- Social media and digital content skills.
