The team this position belongs to oversees Rakuten Mobile's overall business strategy and marketing, powerfully driving service growth and expansion of the customer base. Position Details

As a UX Specialist at Rakuten Mobile, you will lead UX improvements across all Rakuten Mobile services and drive product growth. Leveraging both quantitative analysis using Rakuten Group's vast data assets and qualitative insights from user interviews, you will lead UX strategy development and execution to directly contribute to business success. This is a highly rewarding position where you can fully apply your expertise and passion as a UX specialist in Rakuten's highest-priority mobile business. You will lead a wide range of work directly tied to product growth, from UX strategy planning to execution across all Rakuten Mobile services.

UX Strategy & Execution:

  • Define and drive the UX strategy and roadmap across all Rakuten Mobile services (Web/App, in-store experience).
  • Deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points through quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and extract actionable insights.
  • Develop UX improvement proposals and define requirements based on extracted insights.

Data Analysis & Product Growth:

  • Collaborate with the data analytics team to conduct in-depth analysis and extract insights.
  • Set KPIs, manage progress, measure post-release impact, and propose continuous improvements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, monitor market trends, and research technology developments for potential application to services.

UX Design & Direction:

  • Organize UI requirements, design information architecture, create wireframes, and develop prototypes for websites and apps.
  • Collaborate with and direct the UI design team.

Project Management:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration, issue clarification, and consensus building to drive assigned projects to success.
  • Work closely with development teams and business stakeholders to lead product improvement projects from a UX perspective.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in UX design or product design
  • Experience in user research and insight extraction using quantitative and qualitative data
  • Practical experience with wireframing, prototyping, and information architecture
  • Experience participating in product development processes in collaboration with engineering and business teams
  • Experience with data-driven decision making (KPI management, impact measurement, etc.)
  • Business-level Japanese communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in UX/product design within the telecommunications industry or mobile services
  • Experience collaborating with data analytics teams (SQL, BI tools, etc.)
  • Experience directing external vendors or design partners
  • Project management experience (leading cross-functional teams)
  • Business-level English communication skills

Additional information on English Qualification
Must have a TOEIC score of 600 or equivalent proficiency in English
