About the opportunity

for Sustainability framework, we are embedding sustainability across teaching,
research, operations and community engagement to help create a more sustainable
future for Tasmania and beyond.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator and engagement professional to
help bring our sustainability ambitions to life.

Working across the University, you'll inspire participation, build meaningful
partnerships and design engagement initiatives, events and communications that
empower staff, students and communities to contribute to our sustainability
goals and create measurable impact.

As Sustainability Coordinator (Communications & Engagement), you will lead the
development, delivery and evaluation of the University's sustainability
engagement and communications program. From campaigns and events to
storytelling, partnerships and behaviour-change initiatives, you'll help turn
strategic sustainability commitments into meaningful action while building a
vibrant, inclusive and engaged sustainability culture across the University.
 From campaigns and events to storytelling and stakeholder engagement, you will
help translate our sustainability goals into meaningful action and measurable
outcomes. You will work closely with staff, students and external partners to
foster a vibrant and inclusive culture of sustainability across the University.

What you’ll do:

* Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the University's
sustainability engagement and communications program, including setting
priorities, defining success measures and monitoring impact with the support
of the Sustainability Projects and Communication Officer.
* Using the ability to translate technical holistic sustainability concepts
into accessible messaging, oversee and guide the development of
sustainability communications, including newsletters, articles and layout for
digital channels.
* Work collaboratively with staff, students, communities and partners to
co-design engagement initiatives and amplify sustainability action across the
University and beyond.
* Support preparation of professional reports and presentations, and
communicate strategies, frameworks, and findings to various audiences as well
as providing secretariat services to the Sustainability Committee and the
University Executive Team Sustainability Working Group.
* Coordinate sustainability projects, campaigns and events that inspire
participation, foster behaviour change and support delivery of the
University's sustainability commitments. Applying detailed knowledge of
sustainability and practical organisation skills.
* Establish and monitor measures of engagement impact, using data and insights
to continuously improve programs, communications and outcomes. Provide
informed responses and guidance on general sustainability enquiries using
sound sustainability knowledge to provide accurate, timely and appropriate
information, including monitoring email queries.

­What we’re looking for:

* A passion for sustainability and a commitment to creating positive
environmental, social and economic outcomes through collaboration and
engagement.
* Experience designing and delivering engagement, communications or
behaviour-change initiatives that build community participation and
contribute to meaningful sustainability outcomes.
* Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to
translate complex sustainability concepts into engaging and accessible
messages that motivate action and connect diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated proficiency with a range of computer software including
database, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, social media, and e-mail
packages, communications and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite),
experience with digital communications platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Drupal,
WordPress, etc), and familiarity with collaboration and productivity tools
(e.g., Teams, SharePoint, MS Planner).
* Demonstrated ability to evaluate engagement and communications impact as well
as familiarity with analytical tools (websites, social media insights, etc)
* Experience evaluating engagement outcomes and using insights and data to
improve program effectiveness and impact.

 Qualifications and Licences

* A degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant
experience, education and/or training.
* Willingness to maintain a current First Aid Certificate, Driver’s License,
Working with Vulnerable People Card and Food Safety Certificate.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and 0.8FTE with a total remuneration
package of up to $111,917 (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
