Position description
The Senior Systems Analyst (SSA) is a full-stack technical role supporting
university-wide Digital Experience platforms and systems. The SSA assists the
Technical Support Manager under the Strategic Planning Section in the IT Office
in resolving complex technical issues, providing technical guidelines, and
supporting proof-of-concept (PoC) and solution validation activities. While
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a core platform, the role broadly supports
multiple CMS and digital platforms, focusing on performance optimisation,
security, and user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in resolving complex technical issues across digital experience
platforms and enterprise systems; - Provide full-stack development and troubleshooting support, including
front-end, back-end, integration, and infrastructure touchpoints; - Support and review development on CMS platforms, including AEM and other
institutional content management systems; - Provide solid technical input on system architecture, component design, and
integration patterns; - Develop technical guidelines, standards, and administrator documentation for
internal operational use; - Prepare and validate proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions, optimise system
performance and user experience by analysing traffic patterns, reducing
network latency, and improving response time; - Apply solutions such as caching strategies, CDN usage, Apache rewrite rules
(regex), and domain configuration to improve performance and SEO; - Collaborate with other IT teams to address security risks, integration
issues, and environment problems; - Support security hardening, vulnerability fixing, and compliance remediation
activities as required; - Leverage analytics and performance metrics (e.g. Lighthouse, SEO indicators)
to improve digital experience and user engagement; - Assist in optimising integration with social media, third-party services, and
external platforms to enhance user reach and experience; and - Perform ad-hoc IT projects and assignments as directed.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related
discipline; - At least 6 years of relevant experience in system development and system
analysis roles; - Strong full-stack development experience, including Java and object-oriented
programming (OOP); - Solid hands-on experience with CMS platforms, with strong knowledge of AEM
and exposure to other CMS solutions; - Experience in web and platform performance optimisation, including network
latency reduction and traffic optimisation; - Practical experience with Apache rewrite rules (regular expressions), caching
concepts, CDN, and DNS (CNAME configuration); - Experience in addressing application and platform security concerns,
including vulnerability remediation; - Good understanding of analytics, SEO optimisation, and digital performance
metrics; and - Strong documentation skills with experience producing technical standards and
administrator guidelines.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.
Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and
availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
