As our Senior SEO & GEO Search Lead, you'll play a critical role in shaping how customers discover AGL across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to lead AGL's search strategy across AGL.com.au and MyAccount, combining deep SEO expertise with the rapidly evolving world of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and AI visibility.

Working closely with the Senior Optimisation & Search Lead and partnering with teams across the business, you'll drive initiatives that increase organic performance, improve customer discoverability, and strengthen AGL's presence within AI answer engines and large language model experiences. You'll be the go-to search expert, translating technical insights into commercial outcomes, influencing priorities, and championing best practice across SEO, AI visibility, content and digital experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. You'll lead the evolution of AGL's search capability, uncover opportunities through data and analytics, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver initiatives that improve visibility, traffic, engagement and conversion.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with the Content & Production team to establish governance, reporting and best practices for AI visibility, using insights into AI and LLM behaviour to track performance, identify opportunities, and improve AGL's mentions, citations and representation across AI-powered experiences.
  • Operate as a trusted cross‑functional partner – communicating and driving initiatives through impeccable stakeholder management, supporting the Content Designer - Search and assisting with research activities, and unifying on planning each quarter.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in SEO, including technical SEO, on-page optimisation, website architecture, structured data, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals and website migrations.
  • Exposure or understanding of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), AI visibility and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), with the ability to optimise content for AI-powered search and LLM-driven experiences.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering digital optimisation programs end-to-end, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced analytics and reporting capability, with experience leveraging tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, BrightEdge and other enterprise SEO platforms to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and drive priorities across Digital, Product, Content and Technology teams.
