THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a Senior Internal Communications Advisor to join the EPA’s Strategic Communications team.

The role is responsible for developing and delivering effective internal communication content, systems and processes that support employee engagement and organisational awareness. It also coordinates and delivers internal communications across a range of channels, including the intranet and digital platforms and through events, to ensure timely, consistent and engaging communication throughout the EPA.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Proven experience developing and improving internal communications systems, processes and standards within a complex organisation
  • The ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content and provide strategic communication advice to business units
  • Experience in drafting communications content and collateral to support the rollout of agency-wide campaigns
  • Strong digital capability, including experience with intranet platforms, video, live streaming and enterprise social media platforms
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build collaborative relationships
  • Sound judgement, a proactive and solutions focused approach and the ability to operate effectively in a sensitive, high-profile environment

ABOUT THE TEAM

Comprising the Digital & Content and the Internal Communications team, the Strategic Communications team is responsible for:

  • Delivering internal communications, including content development, channel management and staff engagement activities
  • Ensuring EPA publications are accessible and meet NSW Government standards
  • Managing and updating the EPA’s public‑facing website content, ensuring information is accurate, current and easy to use
  • Leading a digital‑first content approach so EPA websites deliver a clear, customer‑centred experience for NSW residents
  • Developing and applying a consistent brand strategy to build trust and recognition
  • Protecting brand integrity by applying consistent visual identity and inclusive, accessible design across all public communications and campaigns
