Senior Assistant Manager/Assistant Manager (Marketing)

Job Responsibilities:

The School of Social Sciences (SSS) is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing & Communications Senior Assistant Manager/Assistant Manager to lead the marketing and outreach efforts for its graduate coursework and research programmes, as well as undergraduate summer school and other special programmes. This is a new role, created to address a strategic priority: diversifying the geographic composition of our student intake. It entails specifically targeting prospective students from India, ASEAN nations, and Singapore for graduate programmes, and additionally other countries such as China and European countries for the special programmes while also increasing overall enrolment across these programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of a comprehensive marketing and outreach strategy, working closely with programme faculty, administrative staff, and student ambassadors. This is an initial two-year contract position, with a possible extension of one year. Continuation beyond the contract period will be assessed based on demonstrated progress in student intake diversification and enrolment growth.

Job Requirements:

A good Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field from a recognised university. Experience in higher education marketing, student recruitment, or a related field. Experience managing or appearing in video content production. Familiarity with CRM tools, email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp), or marketing analytics dashboards. Familiarity with Sitefinity CMS (or similar enterprise content management systems) is highly desirable. Knowledge of or experience engaging with the Indian or ASEAN higher education landscape and student decision-making behaviour. Experience building or engaging with networks in relevant student or professional communities in target markets. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential; additional proficiency in a regional language (Hindi, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Thai, or Tagalog) is considered an added advantage to engage prospective students, partners, and stakeholders in target markets where these languages are predominantly used. Demonstrable social media skills across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — including content creation, community management, and basic analytics. Willingness to travel for education fairs and outreach events, including occasional overseas travel within the region. Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. A collaborative working style and comfort engaging with faculty, students, and external partners.
