  • The Role

    We’re looking for someone who aspires to create compelling stories from a fresh and original perspective alongside an experienced producer and is keen to learn how to tell quality stories. We’re looking for our next host for the much-loved breakfast show, covering the mighty west of New South Wales.

    The Job

    • Host a daily local radio show covering Western NSW, including Dubbo, Mudgee, Wellington, Gilgandra, Bourke, Walgett, Cobar, and Nyngan.
    • Interact regularly with our community and show a strong understanding of the audience.
    • Work with an incredible team in the Dubbo bureau to contribute to larger coverage
    • Contribute to the Local Emergency Coverage plan and communicate with relevant stakeholders as needed.
    • Generate local content that can be shared with other ABC content teams aimed at local and national audiences.

    About You

    You'll have: 

    • Experience in radio, on-demand audio or media.
    • Ideally, skills in creating original, engaging cross-platform content.
    • Excellent editorial abilities for sourcing and analysing information.
    • Passion for authentic content that represents Australia's diverse cultural and Indigenous communities.
    • Ideally, possession of a current and valid Driver’s Licence.
