Pursuit & Proposals Marketing Specialist
Your Role
Gensler’s Sydney office is seeking a highly driven and strategic Pursuits & Proposals Marketing Specialist to play a central role in delivering high-impact business development outcomes. This position is focused on the management of pursuits and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, guiding opportunities from initial intake through to the development of compelling proposals and client presentations. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in architecture, design, engineering (AEC), or other highly proposal-driven professional services environments, with a strong understanding of the pace, complexity, and collaboration required to win work. Reporting to the Regional Marketing Director, you will be an active contributor and integral member of the Asia Pacific & Middle East (APME) regional marketing team, while partnering closely with the Sydney office leadership team to support local business development and marketing priorities. In addition to pursuits, this role contributes to proactive marketing and brand-building initiatives in the Australian market.
What You Will Do
- Pursuit & RFP Management
Manage the end-to-end RFP process, from intake and qualification to submission Assess requirements, define pursuit strategies, and coordinate timelines and inputs across teams Support go/no-go decisions and ensure compliance with client and brand standards - Proposal & Presentation Development
Lead the creation of high-quality proposals and client presentations with a critical emphasis on graphic design capabilities Develop compelling win themes, messaging, and visual narratives Collaborate with leadership and project teams to translate complex content into clear, persuasive submissions - Strategic Business Development Support
Partner with leadership on pursuit strategy, positioning, and interview preparation Strengthen competitive differentiation through targeted messaging and insights - Proactive Marketing & Brand Building
Contribute to marketing campaigns and brand initiatives in the Australian market Support development of: Social media content Thought leadership materials Client events and industry engagements Align local activities with regional and global marketing strategies - Regional & Local Collaboration
Collaborate with the APME regional marketing team on shared pursuits and initiatives Work closely with Sydney office leadership to support local priorities and opportunities - Operational Excellence
Manage multiple concurrent pursuits in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Maintain and improve proposal content, systems, and workflows - Sustainability Integration
Support Gensler’s broader sustainability goals through day-to-day activities. Incorporate sustainability messaging into pursuits and marketing efforts where relevant
Your Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in marketing with a strong emphasis on RFP management, proposals, and pursuits
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, or Business
- Proven experience in architecture, design, engineering (AEC) or other highly proposal-driven professional services environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value pursuits from start to finish

Design & Tools
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required)
- Working knowledge of: Photoshop / Illustrator (preferred) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (required) Google Slides, Keynote, Miro (plus)
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is advantageous
