  • The Role

    Are you a passionate and experienced journalist with a keen eye for investigative storytelling? ABC's is seeking an exceptional Producer/Reporter for the iconic 7.30 program. 

    As a Producer/Reporter, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of the 7.30 program, delivering hard-hitting investigative reports, and engaging viewers with compelling storytelling. You will work closely with a team of talented journalists, researchers, and production crew to uncover stories that matter, challenge the status quo, and hold those in power accountable.

    The Job

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Researching, developing, and producing high-quality investigative stories and current affairs pieces for the 7.30 program
    • Conducting in-depth interviews with newsmakers, experts, and those affected by the issues being covered
    • Presenting live on-air segments with professionalism, authority, and engaging delivery
    • Collaborating with the production team to ensure seamless execution of segments and adherence to editorial standards
    • Utilising multimedia platforms to enhance storytelling and engage audiences across various channels

    About You

    To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional journalistic skills, a proven track record in investigative reporting, and a commitment to ethical and accurate journalism. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a deep understanding of current affairs and the Australian socio-political landscape.

    You'll be able to demonstrate:

    • Highly advanced long-form reporting, writing, investigative and story-telling skills
    • Comprehensive understanding of, and experience in, television current affairs production and feature length television story making and production
    • Excellent political, business and general contacts
