What you'll do

In this role you are the single point of accountability for Cartology's most critical strategic asset: its data. You will lead a large, multi-disciplinary organization to define and execute the strategy for Cartology's entire data platform, including data engineering, governance, BI, insights, and audience activation. You are a Senior Leader who combines deep technical data expertise with a sophisticated understanding of the media industry and the ability to navigate complex group relationships. You will be accountable for leading the development of the investment strategy and ensuring our data capabilities provide a powerful, defensible competitive advantage.

  • Strategic Platform Ownership: Develop and own the multi-year strategic roadmap for the Data & Audience platform, establishing it as the core intelligence engine for the business.

  • Senior Stakeholder Partnership & Governance: Act as the primary strategic technology partner to the leaders of Analytics, Sales, and other Group data functions. Drive the agenda and strategic narrative for executive-level steering committees, navigating complex cross BU discussions with senior stakeholders (GM / Director / MD).

  • Strategic Investment & Benefits Realisation: Lead the development of and articulate the value of multi-million dollar business cases for the platform. You are accountable for partnering with the business and group analytics functions to ensure the technology investment delivers its promised outcomes, from enabling new insights products to driving operational efficiency.

  • Data Governance & Security: Own the end-to-end governance, management, and security of the Cartology data platform, ensuring compliance and best practices.

  • Product & Technology Leadership: Lead a large, cross-functional team of data engineers, BI developers, product managers, and analytics specialists. Oversee the build of all data products, including insights, planning tools, measurement capabilities, and audience platforms. Lead the collaboration with architecture and program management for the platform.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading large data-centric technology teams (50+) with a strong background in data engineering, BI, analytics, and data governance.

  • Deep understanding of the retail media industry, particularly measurement techniques, audience segmentation, and the application of data to drive commercial outcomes.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and political acumen, with demonstrated success in partnering with senior data science and analytics leaders in a complex, federated corporate environment.

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into a coherent data platform and product strategy.

  • Strong enough technical credibility to oversee a broad and complex data technology stack.
