About the Role

The Planning Executive is responsible for assisting in the creation and management of media plans, analysing performance metrics, and ensuring the smooth execution of media campaigns. This role requires a keen understanding of media planning, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners.

As a Planning Executive, you will be instrumental in supporting the media planning process, from initial strategy development through to campaign execution and analysis. Your role involves collaborating with a dynamic team to bring creative media strategies to life, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of media channels and techniques, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of the media landscape and its impact on client success. Responsibilities

Media Plan Development

  • Assist in the development of media plans based on client objectives, market research, and audience insights.
  • Support the creation of media schedules, including channel selection, timing, and budget allocation
  • Work closely with senior planners, creative teams, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of media strategies.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of creative media solutions.

Campaign Execution / Optimisation

  • Coordinate the execution of media plans, working with media vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Monitor campaign progress, track deliverables, and address any issues that arise during execution.
  • Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven recommendations for adjustments to improve effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation and collaborate with the team to implement changes. 

Data Analysis / Administrative Support

  • Analyse performance data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of media campaigns.
  • Prepare and present reports on campaign performance, including key insights and recommendations for optimisation.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to media planning, including documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Maintain organised records of media plans, contracts, and performance reports.

Market Research

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support media planning efforts.
  • Gather and interpret data on audience behaviours, media consumption patterns, and industry trends.

Client Interaction & Vendor Coordination

  • Provide support in preparing presentations and reports for client meetings.
  • Assist in addressing client inquiries and incorporating feedback into media plans.
  • Liaise with media vendors to negotiate rates, secure placements, and manage relationships.
  • Ensure that all media buys are executed according to plan and contractual agreements.

Budget Management

  • Assist in managing media budgets, ensuring that spend is allocated effectively and in accordance with plan specifications.
  • Track media expenditures and assist in budget reconciliation.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior planners, creative teams, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of media strategies.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of creative media solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and share ideas and feedback.

About You

Personal Specifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media, Business, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in media planning, advertising, or a related role is preferred, but entry-level candidates with relevant internships or academic experience will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in media planning tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, media planning software) is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
