People & Culture Business Partner
The Opportunity:
As a People & Culture Business Partner at Seven, your role will cover a blend of strategic and operational responsibilities, requiring a deep understanding of business needs and people-related challenges. You’ll identify gaps, develop solutions, and implement processes that enhance both business performance and employee experience.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll collaborate with senior leaders to align people strategies with business goals. You’ll be the first point of contact for stakeholders, managing P&C initiatives, queries, and projects while also contributing to broader P&C team efforts. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
This position is a 6-month parental leave cover.
Based in Eveleigh, Sydney, you will report to the Head of Business Partnering & Governance. You are responsible for:
- Serve as the primary P&C contact for a designated portfolio, advising senior managers on performance management, policy issues, and employee relations.
- Build trusted relationships with managers to support workforce planning, learning & development, and succession planning.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, pay queries, and performance management.
- Execute and support P&C strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, values, and strategic projects such as D&I and sustainability.
- Review and approve employment contracts and letters, ensuring compliance with policies and improving P&C processes.
- Lead and contribute to strategic P&C projects, including leadership development programs and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, internal policies, and best practices while supporting training initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
About You:
You will be an experienced People & Culture Business Partner with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong decision-making skills. You are a critical thinker with an innovative mindset, proactive approach, and strong partnering skills.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in a similar role within fast-paced, complex environments.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, its interpretation, and implementation, along with experience handling complex and sensitive inquiries with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to align HR practices with business strategy, demonstrating high business acumen and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Strong partnering skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to support and mentor team members.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and project management to drive process improvements.
- A results-driven mindset with a passion for enhancing HR services and contributing to organizational growth.
