About the Role

We are seeking a Content Navigator to work closely with Content Makers as they serve changing audience needs.

The position will be embedded in our news team, working with journalists and producers to ensure the best content can be easily found anytime, anywhere. This is a great opportunity to make an impact and maximise content value through searching, managing content and actively contributing to the editorial process with selections of raw media. As an integral part of a state news team, you will bring and create new ideas to enhance production, and editorial value.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to state news teams by participating in editorial meetings and projects to achieve content goals.
  • Collaborate with content creators on managing and sharing content while maintaining metadata.
  • Assist in selecting and retaining audio-visual content per policies and guidelines.
  • Resolve technical and non-technical issues throughout the content lifecycle.
  • Improve metadata capture for raw vision feeds from news agencies.
  • Create descriptive metadata in Stratus and CoDA on busy news days.
  • Facilitate content access and migration between systems (Stratus, DNL, CoDA) per ABC standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy, deadline driven environment is comfortable with working independently or as part of a team. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Library/Archives/Preservation/Broadcast
  • Knowledge of content management principles across various media formats
  • Understanding of content value for re-use and production
  • Skilled in metadata quality assurance and application across systems
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Passion for diverse, authentic content representing Australian communities
