At the heart of our Australian operations is 10 News First, our news division that is experiencing continued growth in viewership, reflecting our commitment to delivering high-quality news content that resonates with audiences across Australia.  Due to this success, our expanded News offering has grown to now include 10News+, Australia's most anticipated and dynamic news and current affairs show.

 

We now have an opportunity for a senior News Producer in our Sydney newsroom.

As a Producer at 10 News First you’ll be a valued member of our editorial team and have the newsroom experience to step into most roles as required. You will have high-level control room and lineup skills, with the ability to write and produce high quality news stories. Your multitasking abilities will help ensure 10 News productions go to air accurately and smoothly.

As a highly experienced News Producer, you pride yourself on quality work, contributing to the ethos of the 10 News team and eager to see continued success in the production of honest and engaging news content.

 

Functions will include:

  • Help oversee the day-to-day requirements of news productions
  • Lineup News Bulletins as required
  • Actively contribute to editorial decisions, finding and pitching stories that are relevant to our viewers
  • Story writing, producing and editing
  • Produce news content for digital and social channels
  • Produce a dynamic bulletin including story development, script approvals, graphics and animations from inception of ideas to on-air
  • Produce News Special Events
  • Manage time pressures and be able to meet multiple daily deadlines

 

What are we looking for in an experienced News Producer? 

  • A news enthusiast, across the issues that are important to our audience
  • Substantial newsroom experience
  • Degree or college education in Journalism
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines
  • Available to work weekends and early/late shifts
  • Ability to VJ or shoot is an advantage
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones
