Marketing AI Ops Engineer

The Opportunity

Findex is looking for a Marketing AI Ops Engineer to join on a 12-month max-term
contract, open to candidates anywhere in Australia. This role is for a
technically strong builder who thrives in lean, high-autonomy environments. You
will own the full AI and automation engineering layer of the ANZ marketing
function, architecting, building and deploying the agents and integrations that
augment what the marketing team can do and at what scale. If you are an engineer
with a marketing background who wants to apply serious technical capability to a
marketing problem that is genuinely unsolved, this is the role.

Your role, your contribution!

  • Architect, build and deploy AI automations and agents end-to-end across the
full marketing function, holding both the design decisions and the
operational execution, you build it and you ship it
  • Design and operate AI agents that absorb routine, rule-based work from across
the marketing team, augmenting the function's output without growing
    headcount
  • Build, monitor and maintain the marketing connector stack, designing clean
data flows between platforms and ensuring the AI and automation layer sits on
    healthy architectural foundations
  • Deploy automated marketing outputs in production, owning end-to-end execution
of scheduled workflows, campaign launches and content pipelines, not just the
    underlying architecture
  • Embed brand voice, accuracy and compliance into AI outputs, building
evaluation, monitoring and guardrails so automated work meets the firm's
    standards at scale
  • Lift the AI capability of the broader marketing team through prompt
libraries, shared workflows and internal training, reducing single-point
    dependency over time

The benefits of joining us!

  • Genuine technical ownership in a lean, high-autonomy environment, the kind of
role where you set the architecture, make the calls and see the impact
    directly
  • Flexible working arrangements with the freedom to work from anywhere in
    Australia
  • Exposure to a complex, integrated marketing function operating at national
scale, with real problems worth solving
  • Structured learning and development opportunities to stay at the forefront of
    AI and marketing technology
  • Collaborative team culture with access to Findex's national network of
professionals across advisory, wealth and accounting
  • Meaningful community impact through the Findex Community Fund

What you will bring to the role:

  • Hands-on experience working across multiple marketing disciplines with a
practical understanding of how each function operates and contributes to
    commercial outcomes.
  • Proven experience across software engineering, data engineering, MarTech
engineering or automation engineering, with hands-on exposure to building for
or alongside a marketing function, a background in startups or
    self-employment is strongly valued
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating production AI or automation
architectures at scale, including agent orchestration, integration patterns,
    observability and data flow design
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying agentic or LLM-assisted workflows
in a commercial setting, across a range of platforms, including prompt
    engineering, evaluation and guardrails
  • Strong API integration capability across SaaS marketing platforms, with
working knowledge of CRM, analytics, ad platforms, CMS and event tooling, and
comfort with iPaaS and workflow automation tooling
  • A builder's mindset, equally comfortable at the architectural level and
pushing the button on production outputs; financial services experience is
not required and a tech startup background is preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data
Engineering, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical
experience, combined with strong written communication skills for
    documentation and internal capability-building
