The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established
in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade. With 51 offices
globally, including 13 in the Chinese Mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as
a two-way global investment and business hub.
The HKTDC organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions
to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets. The
HKTDC also provides up-to-date market insights and product information via
research reports and digital news channels.
As we celebrate our 60th anniversary in 2026 and begin a new three-year business
cycle, our mission remains as strong as ever to help Hong Kong thrive in trade
and businesses succeed in the ever-changing landscape.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation
promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic, high-calibre and
experienced marketing professional to join our Team.
Responsibilities:
The appointee will be responsible for organising HKTDC’s marketing/promotional
programs and activities for promoting the Design & Marketing Services sectors,
including:
- Oversee and execute promotional activities for different projects
- Assist the section head to design the conference programme of HKTDC design
and marketing related events - Identify and invite Hong Kong and overseas speakers for HKTDC design and
marketing related events - Recruit quality Hong Kong and overseas visitors and / or sponsors to HKTDC
design and marketing related events - Assist the section head and liaise with service providers, contractors,
Creative Department, and artists to curate HKTDC design-related events and /
or exhibitions - Recruit quality Hong Kong and overseas exhibitors/service providers to join
local events/overseas missions, and lead the missions when necessary - Liaise and coordinate with HKTDC mainland and overseas Branch Offices,
external parties such as industry institutions, associations and media, etc. - Understand the business matching requirement of participants and assist in
lining up business matching appointments when necessary - Handle and supervise the logistical issues such as delegate travel, venue
design and setup, information preparation, etc. - Assist the section head to conduct budgetary control and oversee the
event-costing of the assigned projects - Provide on-site support and other administrative support as and when
necessary
Requirements:
- A recognised university degree with 8 years’ working experience, preferably
with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and
marketing; exhibition/event organisation or public/corporate relations etc. - Mature with superior skills in conference and exhibition organisation, sales
and marketing - Enthusiastic in promoting design and marketing industries
- Self-motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability
- A strong team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including
Putonghua - Strong inclination and understanding of Hong Kong economy, trade and business
arena - Wiling to travel overseas for non-Hong Kong events when necessary
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis,
renewable subject to operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
