The Role
The ABC is looking for a Journalist to produce and present local radio news and flash bulletins to ensure ABC News remains an agenda-setting news service based in Southbank, Melbourne
The Job
- Deliver radio news bulletins tailored to a Victorian audience.
- Write and sub-edit scripts and stories with strong journalistic skills, ensuring content is legally and editorially sound.
- Contribute to editorial meetings with original ideas and coverage suggestions.
- Develop stories reflecting Australia's cultural, geographic, and socio-economic diversity, engaging with communities to find relevant stories.
- Collaborate with colleagues and monitor daily news output to respond to breaking news events.

About You
You'll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience.
- Broadcast-quality voice with excellent presentation skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Advanced experience in presenting news bulletins, producing clear and accurate content.
- Strong team collaboration skills with flexibility across shifts and tasks.
- Proficiency in multimedia editing systems (e.g., Netia), with a deep understanding of broadcasting law, ABC priorities, and diverse community content.
