The Role:

The Insights & Research Executive plays a key role in supporting QMS Media’s client and business research approach and strategic selling requirements for each of our products.

Providing insight through data, this role requires detailed analysis into audience, category and competitor behaviour to assist in client acquisition, management and opportunities. Additionally, you will be required to support the management and implementation of client campaign measurement projects.

This position requires a unique blend of data analysis, strategic thinking, creativity and storytelling to support the evolution of QMS products and to ensure alignment with customer needs and market trends.

Strong communication skills, a solid understanding of research methodologies, data & insights tools, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights are essential, all aimed at driving revenue growth across new and existing clients. The Insights & Research Executive will need to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product, to align strategies, define timelines and prioritise initiatives based on evolving business priorities.

What you will be able to do:

  • Collaborating with Sales / Strategy teams to identify research opportunities to ensure we meet their client campaign objectives and measurement needs.
  • Supporting the National Product Strategy & Research Director to manage individual client campaign research projects with the client and external research agencies.
  • Develop individual campaign case studies for key clients as needed.
  • Supporting QMS Product teams (including City of Sydney, Gold Coast Street Furniture, Canberra Airport and Digital Large Format) via analysis of data and research studies to find trends and generate compelling insights and market collateral.
  • Supporting National Product Strategy & Research Director to develop consumer insights to inform market collateral and assist in client specific pro-active product collateral.
  • Assisting in the development of strategic proposals & other sales presentations as and when required.
  • Create material that is delivered with influential storytelling and strategic foresight to support insights-based decision making.

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Business, Communication/ Data/ Research and/ or Marketing (preferred but no essential)
  • Strong understanding of data, research & insights with proven experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience (2-5 years) in an insight or research role or comparable discipline in a media owner, agency, or research business environment
  • Working knowledge of MOVE / MOVE 2.0, or other media audience measurement systems
  • Working knowledge of data insight tools such as Nielsen Consumer and Media View, Roy Morgan, Geo Tribes Explorer, Nielsen Adviews Online, SMI or similar
  • Ability to analyse data and use it to create strategic collateral that drives incremental revenue opportunities for the business.
  • Understanding and experience using both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
