The CUHK Business School is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong. The Marketing and Communications Office plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the School’s brand and reputation through promoting its thought leadership globally, creating and reinforcing consistent messaging to the public, developing and driving implementation of communications plans and strategies across multiple channels, providing guidance and advice on effective internal and external communications and issues management, and establishing lasting connections with the School’s community.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Public Relations and Communications, the appointee will be responsible for (a) championing branding campaigns, including planning and executing strategic branding events, creating compelling multi-media content and visuals, and developing effective brand communication materials to elevate the School’s branding and thought leadership; (b) ensuring a cohesive identity and strong brand presence across all promotional and communications materials; reviewing and enhancing communications and marketing materials developed by internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure accuracy, high professional quality, and adherence to established branding guidelines; (c) serving as an internal consultant to support and advise various departments and offices across the School on their branding strategies, ensuring alignment with the School’s overarching brand and mission; (d) liaising and co-ordinating with a diverse network of internal and external stakeholders—including PR agencies, students, alumni, faculty members, and administrative offices—to support the School’s communications and events; (e) drafting high-level speeches, messages, and briefing materials for members of the senior management in both English and Chinese; (f) managing and monitoring the office budget, track campaign performance; and (g) performing other impromptu duties as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related disciplines; (ii) fulfilled the language requirement set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification executive experience, preferably in branding, marketing, content management, public relations, advertising, corporate communications, or related fields; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) a dynamic, innovative, agile, self-motivated, collaborative, well-organised and can-do work attitude, with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; (vi) attentiveness to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and a commitment to excellence; and (vii) proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Having experience in Adobe Photoshop will be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for written test(s) as appropriate.
