Digital Lead, News - Darwin

The Role
The Darwin newsroom is looking for a senior writer with a passion for news to be a Digital Lead (working across AM/PM shifts) to drive the delivery of breaking news and features.

The Job
- Driving the delivery of breaking news, features and video stories on digital and social media platforms.
- Identifying story opportunities and leading the delivery of breaking news and information on digital platforms.
- Maintain oversight of digital audience analytics to inform content direction and provide feedback across all platforms.
- Identifying story opportunities and working with multi-platform reporters to produce high-quality articles relevant to the Northern Territory and Australian audience.

About You
To be able to hit the ground running, you will be an experienced digital journalist with experience working in a news environment. You will have a strong understanding of online news and methods of online content distribution and engagement. Your skills and experience will include:
- Accomplished knowledge of digital news production.
- A keen eye for detail and experience working with others to accurately produce and subedit news articles under tight deadline pressures.
- A demonstrated ability to innovate and identify fresh and interesting story ideas and angles that matter to the audience.
- Ability to use audience analytics to guide editorial decision-making and story treatment.
- A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia’s diversity.
