Digital Journalist, Brisbane
- Create news stories for the ABC
- Full- time fixed term contract for 18 months
- Southbank Brisbane Location
- Base salary $81K to $99K plus 15.4% ABC nominated super
- Contribute ideas to improve the ways the ABC presents News on digital platforms.
- Develop and maintain a strong awareness of emerging trends in digital and help to shape strategies for new products and services.
- Communicate effectively with senior editorial staff and act as desk/shift lead as required, including acting as the final line of checking for content prior to publication and triaging issues when they arise.
- Take responsibility for content selection and treatment, by managing audience-facing products like the ABC News front pages.
- Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic, and socio-economic diversity of the country.
- Accomplished experience in journalism, with experience with online news publishing systems.
- Accomplished ability to produce accurate and concise copy, and ability to produce engaging, digital-first content.
- Proficient understanding of the way News stories is presented online, including on social media platforms.
- A demonstrated awareness of new media technologies and platforms.
- A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect Australia’s diversity.

You are an experienced Digital Journalist with a sound, track record of digital journalism and a demonstrated online skill and knowledge of and enthusiasm for online as a medium. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and meet regular production deadlines.
