Communications & Marketing Manager
The Opportunity:
As the Communications & Marketing Manager, you’ll be driving strategic communication activities and supporting marketing campaigns for Seven’s News & Public Affairs, Entertainment, and Sport programs. You’ll also play a key role in delivering our high-impact community initiatives and partnerships that deepen audience connection and reinforce Seven’s position as a trusted, engaged media partner across Victoria – including flagship campaigns like the Good Friday Appeal.
Based in our office in Melbourne and reporting to the Head of Communications, News & Public Affairs, Partnerships and Community, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering multi-platform communication strategies to support Seven’s News, Sport and Entertainment program to grow audience engagement across Victoria.
- Collaborating with the News Team to bring Victorian campaigns to life while staying in sync with local stories and talent to amplify key stories, special reports and investigative pieces across broadcast and digital platforms.
- Building strong relationships with key internal teams – including the newsroom, Marketing, Creative, Sales and Social and local media outlets, journalists, and partners to align on communication planning, campaign messaging and strategy.
- Managing partnerships and local activations like the Good Friday Appeal and 7NEWS Melbourne School Tours.
About You
You’re an experienced communications and marketing professional with a passion for news, current affairs, and audience-first storytelling. You’re proactive, detail-obsessed and creatively driven with a sharp news sense, strong campaign instincts, and a flair for engaging, integrated content. You are someone that thrives under pressure and will be able to work in a fast-paced media environment to meet tight deadlines, whilst managing a diverse workload and juggling multiple priorities.
You will have:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public relations, communications, marketing or media, preferably within the news or television industry with a strong contact book and knowledge of the media landscape and a proven track record of securing high-profile media coverage.
- Partnerships OR sponsorships experience including stakeholder liaison, event and project management - you bring a proven ability to manage stakeholders, from media and talent/artist to internal teams and community partners, with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong collaboration, and time management skills whether crafting compelling messaging, or interpreting insights.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to relate to and understand Seven’s brand and program target audience(s).
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication strategies.
- A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
