The opportunity

Are you a communications expert with a passion for storytelling, employee engagement, and corporate reputation? Join Pernod Ricard Australia and New Zealand as our Communications Manager and take the lead in shaping our internal and external communications strategy. As our Communications Manager, you will enhance and protect the reputation of Pernod Ricard across Australia and New Zealand by delivering impactful communications and engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving employee engagement, managing corporate relations, and supporting leadership communications while ensuring alignment with global strategies. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership communication skills, crisis management experience, and the ability to manage a broad remit independently.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies that align with business priorities.
  • Manage internal communication channels, including Microsoft Teams, intranet, and office screens, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including drafting newsletters, coordinating events, and creating FAQs for business changes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on communication matters.
  • Oversee media relations, including drafting press releases, managing media inquiries, and monitoring media sentiment.

What you will bring to the role

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex strategies into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Proven experience in leadership communications, crisis management, and end-to-end campaign and event management.
  • A background in communications, public relations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Canva, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for content creation and distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a standalone communications lead, managing competing priorities and delivering at pace.
