Broadcast IT Support Technician

The Opportunity:
 
As a Broadcast IT Support Technician at Seven, you’ll play a key role in delivering programs like SunriseThe Morning Show7NEWS, and major live events by supporting and maintaining our editing and design production facilities at our state-of-the-art site in Eveleigh, Sydney.
 
Reporting to Head of Technical Services, you’ll work with cutting-edge digital and 2110 IP technology, supporting studio and field production gear, editing, graphics, control rooms, and broadcast infrastructure. This hands-on role covers maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of video, audio, and IT systems, with 24/7 rotating shift work to keep our operations running smoothly.
 
What you’ll do:

  • Support and administer a broad range of systems and workstations (e.g. Active Directory, Adobe Creative Suite, Avid tools, Autodesk Flame, VMware, Quantum Stornext, Telestream, Signiant).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults, perform upgrades, and manage post-production/design workstations, storage, and asset management systems.
  • Contribute to system design, installation, and commissioning projects.
  • Ensure reliability and performance of shared systems in collaboration with other teams.

What you’ll bring:
 
You’re an experienced Broadcast IT Support Technician with strong communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused, team-oriented mindset. You are proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments. You’ll also bring:

  • Knowledge of television technology fundamentals and ability to use television tools and measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, Windows/ Linux administration, and IP networking.
  • Strong teamwork, documentation skills, and the ability to interpret abstract signal paths.
  • Previous experience in a broadcast engineering or support role, including experience working with Avid Editing systems (preferred).
  • Any project management, advanced IT administration, programming/ scripting, and installation experience is highly desirable
